Impacts of plant domestication on soil microbial and nematode communities during litter decomposition

چکیده

Abstract Purpose Plant domestication altered leaf litter quality. Since traits relate to soil functions and organisms (i.e., decomposition decomposer communities), in this study we explore if domestication-induced changes quality have affected their decomposability, bacterial, fungal, nematode communities the soil. Methods We collected from herbaceous crops wild progenitors, measured chemical physical traits. Then, performed a assay on common After three months of incubation, mass loss, richness community composition ten crops. also bacterial fungal six Results Domesticated litters had less carbon (C) dry matter content (LDMC), which accelerated comparison litters. Fungal was higher microcosms incubated with domesticated litters, while effects differed among Domestication did not affect richness. The compositions Soils tended abundance feeding nematodes, soils fed Conclusion at different levels. Leaf decomposability increased domestication, might alter resource inputs into Feeding idiosyncratic microbes, but consistent nematodes. Overall, linkages between crop residues differently for bacteria, fungi,

Soil animals alter plant litter diversity effects on decomposition.

Most of the terrestrial net primary production enters the decomposer system as dead organic matter, and the subsequent recycling of C and nutrients are key processes for the functioning of ecosystems and the delivery of ecosystem goods and services. Although climatic and substrate quality controls are reasonably well understood, the functional role of biodiversity for biogeochemical cycles rema...

Abiotic Soil Factors and Plant-parasitic Nematode Communities.

A natural community of plant-parasitic nematodes is usually polyspecific. The host plant is the most important driving force in nematode populations, but abiotic factors are important in maintaining the steady state. Nematode communities often separate by abiotic soil factors. In any continuous habitat, including crop plants, generally there is a consistency of the most abundant species, which ...

Effects of Plant Functional Group Loss on Soil Microbial Community and Litter Decomposition in a Steppe Vegetation

Globally, many terrestrial ecosystems are experiencing a rapid loss of biodiversity. Continued improvements in our understanding of interrelationships between plant diversity and soil microbes are critical to address the concern over the consequences of the decline in biodiversity on ecosystem functioning and services. By removing forbs, or grasses, or, to an extreme scenario, both forbs and gr...

Impact of litter quantity on the soil bacteria community during the decomposition of Quercus wutaishanica litter

The forest ecosystem is the main component of terrestrial ecosystems. The global climate and the functions and processes of soil microbes in the ecosystem are all influenced by litter decomposition. The effects of litter decomposition on the abundance of soil microorganisms remain unknown. Here, we analyzed soil bacterial communities during the litter decomposition process in an incubation expe...
